DEER VALLEY RESORT​


DEER VALLEY RESORT; PARK CITY, UTAH (February 1, 2021) – Deer Valley Resort welcomes the world’s leading mogul and aerial skiers to compete on their internationally-renowned slopes February 4 through 6, 2021 in the 2021 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International Ski World Cup. This elite-level freestyle competition will be this year's first domestic World Cup competition on U.S. snow and will feature the first domestic Olympic Winter Games qualifier for U.S. Ski & Snowboard Aerial athletes on February 6.

“To mitigate the risks of COVID-19, this year’s events will be held during the day and venue access will be limited to essential personnel only,” said Deer Valley’s Director of Marketing Coleen Reardon. “Although the competition will look and feel differently than years past, and spectators will not be allowed, we look forward to hosting the world’s most talented freestyle athletes to our slopes as safely as possible.”

The 2021 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International this February marks 23 years that Deer Valley Resort has played host to international and world competitions. In addition to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, Deer Valley has been the home for freestyle ski events including the 2003, 2011 and 2019 World Championships and 18 World Cups. Continued world-class excellence through hosting major events and exceeding guests' expectations on every front will forever be the hallmark of Deer Valley Resort's legacy.

To encourage social distancing, there will not be spectator zones for the freestyle competitions at Deer Valley this season, but fans are encouraged to tune in to watch or stream on NBC channels at the following times:
February 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. ET: LIVE Moguls on Olympic Channel
February 5 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. ET: LIVE Dual Moguls on Olympic Channel
February 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. ET: Moguls on NBCSN
February 6 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. ET: LIVE Aerials on Olympic Channel
February 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. ET: Aerials on NBCSN
February 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. ET: Dual Moguls on NBCSN
February 21 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET: Moguls on NBC Sports
March 14 from noon to 1 p.m. ET: Aerials on NBC Sports

The 2021 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International is contingent on local and state health department approvals based on existing and future COVID-19 rules and regulations. FIS, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, the local organizing committee, and Deer Valley Resort are taking a unified approach consistent with guidance from federal, state, and local health authorities.

Due to COVID-19 event and resort operations protocols and taking into consideration the health and safety of resort staff, event staff and the athletes, this year’s event will look different from years past. Events will be held during the day and venue access is limited to essential personnel only. There will be no spectator access and all media coverage must be conducted remotely. Media will be provided with access to photography and video assets each day of training and competition, as well as remote access to athletes.​
