Thanks for the information. Too bad I don’t subscribe to outside online and I’m not about to add another when peacock was supposed to cover this.
I am watching the second run now with great commentary from Ed Drake and his sidekick Nick Fellows. Too bad they show the podium as the cover photo to the video but here it is…
https://youtu.be/kM7_4ZHuoUU
Outsideonline is free at least it was when I jst followed the link on Skiracing.com. Link is at end of the Feb 24 story re Palisades WC. And, personal preference but I liked listening to Marco Sullivan commentary rather than Ed Drake… but then again the BBC crew that does F1 broadcasts drive me nuts too with the hyped semi hysterical blow by blow. But that’s me. And btw, despite the commentary : the snow surface on course was not fresh , soft…. It was water treated some days ago pre storm , set up , and groomed to a v v firm surface. The storm dumped abt 50” but for days theyve been scraping/ slipping, the corse including last night at 2 am after the last flakes fell to get down to the fully prepped hard surface. At least that’s what friends who were course workers tell me. And Palisades posted video of all that on their site over past few days. Now for the rest of the mtn: blower pow and some of the best skiing ever.

Can you post the direct link.
Would luv to hear Marco’s commentary as he is a well known Olympic Valley racer & I’m sure his insights would be great.

The direct link was Outsideonline.com. After clicking it then looked for the palisades WC event and when you click on “ watch” tab the link becomes: watch.Outsideonline.com. Now I’m curious; what happens when you click directly vs following the link via skiracing.com imbedded link in yesterdays story on Palisades race

It just takes me to their main page. Nothing about ski racing.

If I got to watch.outsideonline.com I can find the race, but it's subscription only.

At least the Super G appears to be on Peacock tomorrow.

If someone has a direct link to the outside online race can you please just copy & paste it here. Maybe even tomorrow for the slalom if it is not canceled

There is no Super G tomorrow, it is a slalom which is not scheduled on Peacock till next week. I think the SG you are seeing is actually today’s GS. If we’re lucky it will turn out to be the slalom but I’m not holding my breath.

Oh right... that didn't click with me. I was just thinking "at least tomorrow's race is on Peacock". Very strange.

Has anyone written to Peacock about it?

As I understood the press releases from USSS way back at the beginning of the season, all the US WC events would be available both on Peacock & Outside online. In light of that it was very disappointing not to be able to find today’s race on Peacock. Could have misunderstood the communications though.

My Peacock shows an event for tomorrow. There is a prominent US Ski & Snowboard logo on the event listing. The title says Mens Super-G. The description says “Skiers hit the slopes for the second run of the Men’s Giant Slalom at Palisades Tahoe.” The time is listed as 1:30 pm Eastern time, which would be 10:30 a.am local time, which is 30 minutes after the start of the first run of *slalom. Based on this not feeling very optimistic that the race will actually air on Peacock. As they say at the end of many articles on SkiRacing.com, including today’s, “In Canada, CBC sports offers Alpine World Championship racing content.“ with a link to the cbc site for those who are in Canada (or whose internet connection appears to be from there). Hope USSS can do better next year.

There is also a listing on NBC regular network today.
My interpretation is that it will be covering yesterday’s GS.

Here is the Outside link I found that leads to today’s slalom. It is not asking for a subscription or money yet. We will see when the race begins. No clue as to whether there will be a replay.
Edit: on second look, it appears that this is only available with outside+ subscription.

Not sure how many people here this applies to, but if you've got a subscription to Gaia, it was recently changed to include Outside+

I was able to watch the first run of the men’s slalom on outside for free even though it alludes to a paid subscription. Run 1 is in the books but I am planning to watch run 2 live unless something changes. Follow the link I posted above if you are interested.

I also just wrote peacock an email asking for a partial refund or full refund if they are not going to broadcast the Aspen races next weekend..

Can only speculate but: the links from Skiracing.com straight to Outsideonline.com worked again for both runs of the SL today and access was free. Perhaps this was1. Outside was the bib sponsor for the race and 2. Had an arrangement with either Skiracing media ( Skiracing) or USSA to provide free coverage? Regardless , the click through link worked and from Outside home page just scrolled to upcoming live events and clicked on the race. Curious to see if a similar set up next weekend for Aspen DH / SG.
i never attempted to watch it without going from Skiracing link. Which is how I accesed Outsideonine.com for each run. Regardless, coverage was excellent again with Marco Sullivan. Sorry for those who tried Outside directly and ran into a paywall. BTW Skiracing.com is free these days though it’s a shadow of its former self. Still miss the days when it was a magazine and then a hardcopy newspaper with lots of tech articles , great photography, and racing insights; but I digress.

Peacock continues to distinguish itself. It’s live or nothing. I was watching Aspen, then accidentally clicked away, and it was gone. No replays available.
Even worse, the videos are now marked US Ski and Snowboard. Used to be just WCup. So USSS haven’t managed to do anything useful for showing us ski racing. The incompetence continues.

US Ski and Snowboard continues in their mission to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. Assuming they have anything to do with domestic racing licensing.
Just when we had a decent streaming feed at a reasonable cost, someone had to "fix" it.

Well Peacock had a video of Nyman’s retirement at Aspen on the downhill course. After 30 sec it was unwatchable. I think I tortured myself for another minute. Mainly because my only other choice was to watch some schmaltzy Mikaela video, or replays from January.
I really hope someone puts a stop to these retirement runs down courses.

I subscribed to Peacock exclusively to watch skiing. I was none too pleased to have to subscribe both to Skiandsnowboardlive AND Peacock to watch skiing this year, but I got over it and just did it. And now I find that I need a third subscription? Watching it live is usually not practical for me. I don't have Trailforks or Outside or Gaia and I have no interest in adding a THIRD subscription.

I also find it ironic that it's the American races we can't watch.

I'm starting to think a VPN + CBC might be the best option, though last time I checked, they were broadcasting races without commentary. Not sure if that's typical.

This is a wining combo. They simply broadcast the raw feed, no commentators, and it's quite lovely. Granted, I'm possibly a bit too much of an insider to speak for the 99.99% of people who enjoy commentary on every run/athlete, but it's a high-quality HD feed and works like a charm.

If you desire commentary in English then there aren't many (any?) free options. Eurosport's streaming service is not free and they check against non-EU billing addresses. And the SkiAndSnowboard stuff is fine (they've been using Porino a lot more which is a big plus) but as they don't carry U.S. or Austrian races on said channel it is... well, it is what it is.
