The signal and the noise... Shiffrin counted out, Noël counted out, both deliver because they have done so in the not so recent past. Momentum is real but not a fundamental. Congrats Noël!

Wow, what happened to HK? +2:10 for run 2.
Noel and Zenhausern both needed a podium.

Fastest 2nd run was 19th first run. Course deterioration ?

Don't know about the course degradation, but the fastest second run is by Steen Olsen. 21 years old, junior world champion in SL and GS last year. Already was 12th, 14th, and 10th previously this season. Currently 17th in the slalom standings, hopefully will make in to the top 15 and will start getting a better starting number soon.

I know this is the men's thread, but... How was she counted out? Shiffrin was one of the favorites for the SG.
She wasn’t. She wasn’t doing well for quite awhile. Discussion of that bridged into “will she ever be the same again?” Which for some time was very unknown. Especially her lack of finishing the last third fastest, which was a trademark.

Apparently that questioning, now that it’s moot, is “counting her out”.

Oh, yeah... that was a few weeks ago though I thought. I think if you looked at betting odds, she was still one of the favorites for Kronplatz. Also, I suppose I took "counted out" from @slow-line-fast to be a general statement, not a SkiTalk statement - like media and fans were all counting her out.

Well I’m tempted to go HK in this one, but he may be too much in a rage after the last two slaloms.
At some point Hirscher might have to tell him, “It’s not the skis”.

Is Odermatt resting?
I set my VPN to Switzerland and searched Odermatt Schladming on bing and google. Nothing newer than a couple days ago. No startlist yet on the FIS website either. Changing my pick to someone else on the FIS game
