Wow, such nasty comments under that linked article. I'm sure all those guys commenting are head injury experts. :nono: That was addressed in the New Yorker article about fugue states – – in general the public won't except that there might be a medical explanation for these kind of incidents, and they're quick to pronounce them a scam.

It appears that something similar has happened to some poor guy around here..

A 56-year-old man remains missing more than a week after police say he crashed his car in Morrisville, and friends and family are searching to find him. Dale Wheeler crashed on Church Street near Interstate 540 on Nov. 12, according to the Morrisville Police Department. He has not been seen or heard from since, officials said.

Pretty bizarre! Although a head injury (look at the photo of the windshield) and days in very cold weather can certainly create great confusion. How he survived is a different question.
