I thought it might have been the 505E because he died in March of 1976, was the 555E out yet? I don’t remember the date of the 555E release.

He probably got the new stuff BEFORE it was available to the public..

2022 WC Finals Downhill Finish

given MS' experience a month earlier, I offer this photo as representing,

" The thrill of victory... "

in book-end to my earlier post.

4x Overall WC Champion is lofty !

( ties her with Lindsey, and
AnneMarie was 6x Champ. )

There may be more iconic photos in MS' future,
But I will salute the happiness I see in this photo, given what MikaelaShiffrin had been through in the last two months and the last two years...

She is a Great Champion.
it is a joy and a thrill to watch her race !

Respectfully. skiJ

can it have been fifty years ago... ?

J-CK on the Pro Tour (1973(?) )

I love this shot -
I believe it is a color plate in 'Comeback' ,
a significant book in my youth.

Thank you for this thread. skiJ

That is probably 1973, he was skiing on the pro tour on Rossignol skis back than. I remember seeing him when the pro tour came to Hunter Mt. NY. Those were great times when the pro tour came to town. Thank for sharing the picture.

2023_Alpine_Skiing_World_Cup_Women's_Overall_(8).jpg

in recognition of Mikaela Shiffrin's record breaking ( 88 career wins ) 2023 World Cup season, I'll offer this pair of pic.tures -
the first from Are ( where MS won this GS race ), and
I believe the second is from the 2023 World Cup finals.
The 2023 Overall World Cup championship is MS's fifth --

in accepting the award for 2023 Outstanding athlete - Female (espn), MS said there had been a lot of talk this past race season about records - and that to her, the importance of records is they serve to inspire future generations...

Congratulations! and
Thank You! Mikaela Shiffrin !

with Great Respect. skiJ
