Ran out and bought a blue/black (I guess they call it Aztec purple but it looks blue to me lol) “Work Jacket” just because of this pick. I just wore it this weekened. Bought it in 1992, still my favorite ski jacket I have ever owned, and it’s still stylish as hell. One that left an early impression on me: View attachment 145935
I used to have those Dynafit boots. We called the cruel shoes, guaranteed to give you bone spurs.
Did you take this photo? Here is another great pic from Tuckerman Ravine. Often pictures don't convey how steep something is but this one does!
I call it 'Up the Headwall'

We knew them as "Do-not-fits"I used to have those Dynafit boots. We called the cruel shoes, guaranteed to give you bone spurs.
I posted one of my fathers pictures of Tuckermans from 1944 on the old Epic site. Out of the blue, I received an inquiry requesting right to publish the photo. It is now in 50 Classic Ski Descents in North America.

My "royalty" for the photo was a few free books. I gave one to my sister, who said "oh wow! This looks a lot Like Dad's old photo." Then her jaw dropped as she saw the captions quoted a letter he wrote to our grandmother, which she had transcribed and sent to the family.Great pic! Great story.
And….my son gave the book to me as a gift!
Very cool!
