Are those glass ornaments? I like to see the decorated trees, but I wish people wouldn't use glass ornaments, especially along pedestrian accessible trails. I think they forget about the kids and animals that may encounter the broken pieces.

These are plastic. Cheap, hideous, and yet charming outdoors.

Here’s my son getting back on the horse after taking a spill that required chin stitches right before Thanksgiving.

eThirteen Helix R 12 speed for Christmas. Goes on tomorrow. Today’s ride was 12.5 miles with 2,200’ of vert and a stupid fun tech descent. The good side of this drought.

All good things to say about the Helix R for first impressions - it’s XX1 smooth and shifting is excellent including under load with still GX derailleur and shifter, plus XX1 chain. Huge upgrade to the GX cassette. The 9T ring seems as smooth to me as 10T, but haven’t spent much time in it - it’s nice and low if that’s what you need.

The two piece cassette where you can replace each piece individually will save money over time.

Skiing is still super meh with big crowds in sports jerseys and no terrain open to ditch these people, so I’m mostly on the bike still.

My fav local area finally got snow and it’s not rideable once any melt hits the clay (both trail damage and clay horror), so I’m riding Mt. Herman that’s more typical Pikes Peak kitty litter and goat heads. This area is fairly pedal-y anyway, so light snow doesn’t affect the riding all that much in terms of a good ride and a fat bike doesn’t gain you anything but a fat bike unless it dumps.

Went down to Lake Pueblo today with two of my sons to escape the snow - temps in the mid-50’s made for some sweet riding. These trails are just half mile down and back up from the bluff down to shore, pretty much all fall line down the erosion gulches as you work east and west along the ridge.

14 miles and 1,650’ of vert is all effort here - so good.

Hey its 2021 last time i checked.

I picked up a revolver 120 from a bike shop head mechanic in a private sale for an ok price. My kid and i rode a regular trail today and it felt like cheating. Glad i paid up for full suspension. The bike feels good.

I hate to generalize, but some stereotypes seem to prove true way too often to ignore. Looks like some fun riding. I got my bike down this weekend. Unfortunately, only the roads are melted right now. I'm getting excited for bike season. In reality, skiing is just what I do when I can't bike. I should probably move south.
