Depends on the mood: So much good stuff out there.

Four Ski lists on my phone. They have about 30- 70 songs per list. They are built to cover a half day or full day.

Ski Smooth - Slow Rock, Christian, Country 5: Stairway to Heaven, Traveler (Stapleton), Picture Me Rollin, You can Close Your Eyes, The Blessing
Ski Dance - 70s Disco, 90's Hip Hop through current dance hits and Christian pop. 5: Timber, Smooth Sailin, September, Feels in My Body, Glorify
Ski Best - Mix of my favorites above. 5 other favorites not already listed: Most anything by Chris Cornell (Solo, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog), Be Without You (MJB), Levitating, Lose Yourself, Baba O Riley

When the skiing is fast and smooth I can hear Sir Elton John's Rocket Man in my head! When I hear Rod Stewart's Maggie May in the car I am immediately taken back to driving to Buck Hill in the 70's. Great triggers!!

For a while I listened to music while out cycling, it seemed to help me but then I realized that having buds in my ears was not a good thing out on the road. So I stopped.
When on the slopes I think of the sound of my skis, the beauty of the mountain and the zen of the fall line. Music plays no part in any of this.

One of my best ski friends is like this. He's an amazing skier and wants to be meditative in his skiing.

For me it's the opposite. I'm too cerebral when I ski (or really do anything) so music clears my mind from thinking about the mechanics of skiing. When I think, I ski poorly. Music has radically improved my ability to ski. I just started five years ago and I honestly don't think I'd have advanced the rate I have without having the beats.

Blue Oyster Cult-Godzilla, and Aerosmith-Sweet Emotion really remind me of skiing because those are two songs I listed to on my Astraltune, the 1970’s technical marvel that predated the Sony Walkman. It was basically a car cassette player in a padded case that you wore across your chest attached with waist and shoulder straps. Did anyone else have an Astraltune?

The Cheese got their start playing at ski resorts for lift tickets. They did a tour of Tahoe / California ski resorts in the late 90s.
I know Michael Kang, Mando and fiddle, was a ski patroller somewhere.

What I listen to while skiing is different from what songs remind me of skiing. When I was in high school our ski area played music over the PA system. So when I hear songs from that era, like "Things we do for Love" or "Rich Girl" it brings back memories of riding the chairlift and hearing those songs playing.

I don't listen to music while skiing but if I did it would probably be remastered live Grateful Dead like "Long Strange Trip" and "Europe '72 Live".

Sometimes I like the energy from the music. But when the powder is falling all around me, the muffled silence of the mountain is perfect.

I did not have an Astraltune, but I did ski with a battery-powered portable cassette player in my backpack with wired headphones. That was in 1976 or so.

Now I ski without music.

Oooh! Kashmir is an excellent call.
And Roundabout: The Mountains Come Out of the Sky and they STAND THERE!
Thx, yeah. I want to ski/ski-tour there!

Roundabout was a summer song for me. The socialist summer camp my parents sent me to was into Yes, our rival elitist wannabe's summer camp was into Traffic.

I understand this, and this was how I felt about it when I was cycling. But given the importance of situational awareness that I feel is necessary when on the road, I prefer the sound of the what is happening with my bike, the road and the wind and my response to it all. I feel the same on the mountain. With regards to music, my mind can carry a tune in a more connected way when I am cycling, skiing or making love. And mind you, I feel a deep connection with music when I am listening whcih is why I prefer to separate it from other things that I enjoy with a deep connection...

Reminds me of skiing? That's easy and there's only one answer for me.

Duran Duran's "Hungry Like a Wolf". 'cause you know that scene in Hot Dog... The Movie.
