That is interesting and, as usual, for NASTAR a bit Byzantine.
Ryan was the course pacesetter for the trials and I guess they expected him to be the fastest guy.
For some reason, before the race, they entered him into the handicap program at a .01 handicap.
Since the handicap program sets any handicap below zero to .01, this led to all the guys that beat Ryan getting .01 handicaps.
NASTAR will probably throw their black cat bones and consult fuzzy dice to rectify this situation.
If they don't there are going to be a lot of strange handicaps at their Reigonal trials.
NASTAR is a unique discipline and even big name ski racers can get waxed by a kid that has skied their local course 1000 times.

In years past the fastest guy (or girl) was made "0", then all others were handicapped off of him.
Yes it will be interesting to see how they "adjust". It would be ok if the same person did all of regional pacesetting but does't look that way.
