Oh that reminds me of, to me, an even better one:
Hospitality is the art of making people feel at home, when you wish to God they were
I have some coctail napkins that a friend gave to me in a nifty gift basket. I saved one to put on the wall.

Coincidently I'm taking a break from skiing today so my body can catch up with its healing.
This was in my inbox:
When you need a break, - take a break.

You will often find that the world does not crumble when you are resting. Others will move in to take care of those details that you think cannot be done without you

My daughter made this nearly 30 years ago. When we would tack and keel the boat a little it scared her initially. This was the slogan we came up with.
Still kind of applies to life in general. It has hung near my desk for a long time.

A few years ago a friend was trying to teach me to sail. Once in a while we would take my wife out with us, she would get a little scared when we would put the boat up on it's rails. As long as we kept the boat reasonably level she was happy to sail along at a slower pace, in fact she really liked the ride.

That is something you learn quickly when you retire. It is surprising how fast people jump in and take up new responsibility.

Something that my dog Tia taught me: "Live life like someone left the gate open". I have that slogan on a T-shirt.

I want one of those T-shirts, it is even more true when you retire.

You can't herd cats, but you CAN move their food.

Home Depot CEO via Pessimist's Archive. I'm in a job right now where I have no authority and my job is to influence ... This was a lightbulb moment.

Thanks @Monique for that reference. I've just checked out the Pessimist's Archive. Interesting. How's the new job going?

There's a complicated answer to this question, but in short, it's definitely keeping me busy and mentally engaged!

Saw this today and it struck a cord. Regardless your age, listen to the thoughts!

I did not write this - Worth the read.

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.
... and the month is already over.
... and the year is almost over.
... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed.
... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
and we realize it's too late to go back...
So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...
Let's keep looking for activities that we like...
Let's put some color in our grey...
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters...
I'm doing it after...
I'll say after...
I'll think about it after...
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...
afterwards, priorities change...
Afterwards, the charm is broken...
afterwards, health passes...
Afterwards, the kids grow up...
Afterwards parents get old...
Afterwards, promises are forgotten...
afterwards, the day becomes the night...
afterwards life ends...
And then it's often too late....
So... Let's leave nothing for later...
Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
best friends,
the best family...
The day is today... The moment is now...
We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.
