Nordica Santa Ana 84

Hi I've been looking at this ski for my granddaughter who is 14 years old and a solid intermediate skier but is light in weight. I noticed that this ski took a jump in stiffness this year in the Ski Talk review. Did they add more metal to it? I see the 2022 and 2023 versions of this ski got the same softer flex review that the Astral 84 got. But this year it looks stiffer??

Hi @wtrskir , sorry I didn't see this earlier. I was at masterfit clinics yesterday

With the added metal the ski didn't necessarily get stiffer but instead is damper and more confidence inspiring.

I have a friend who is light and intermediate who is on the SA 88 and loves it

I would not hesitate to get the 84 for your granddaughter.

If you want other options for consideration let us know.

So you are saying the Santa Ana 84 is no stiffer than the Astral was? It seems to have more metal in it.

Are the 2022, 2023, and 2024 Santa Ana 84s the same ski? The reviews are different for the 2024.

I am curious as well because I have the '23 santa ana 84. I've only had it in jersey at the indoor slope but so far i like it. I won't really know I like it until I get her out in Southern Vermont but so far so good.
