Top of Ascutney Mt, VT. There’s a glider in the 2nd cloud middle.

Still hard to see.

Did a bunch of spirals over the Mt then left.

Bald Eagle at VINS in Quechee, VT. All their birds in captivity can’t return to the wild. Since the pandemic, they have gotten many more injured birds brought in. Presumably because more people are out and about or have more time to bring one in.

Apparently the Bald Eagle population has exceeded the totals when Europeans arrived in NA. I see nests once in a while up north. What a regal raptor.

We have a fairly large creek in our backyard. The eagles sit high in the trees and fish right there. Very cool, but not all the time.

Been a while since I posted around these parts. 2016 according to my "profile."

A couple from some walks in the woods this summer...

Lake of the Woods (foreground), Lake Aloha (middle right background), and the Crystal Range from the Ralston Peak Trail. The Caldor Fire ran into this zone about a month later.

Today's objective is the summit of Mt. Raymond, located in the Mt. Olympus Wilderness Area of the Wasatch National Forest.

There are multiple ways to get there but today we utilized the Butler Fork West trail to the Desolation Trail, accessed from BCC. One hikes to Baker Pass then follows the occasionally sketchy ridge to the summit.

The summit of Gobbler's Knob, located on the opposite side of the pass from Mt. Raymond.

Looking up BCC road heading toward Solitude and Brighton through the smoke that rolled in this morning from the lower shoulder of Mt. Raymond.

Looking down from the summit of Mt. Raymond into Mill A Basin and the terrain we hiked through to arrive at our destination. The summit of Gobbler's Knob is on the left side and BCC road is on the right side.

The Gambel Oak (scrub oak) on the south-facing side of Millcreek Canyon have gone red.

Photos taken with my iPhone of scenery to the SE, S, and SW were rendered to be of poor quality due to the sun and smoke. A look back at Mt. Raymond during our decent.

To our members that have shared these photos of the mountain ranges out west and the PNW they are beautiful. If I travel out there it would only be in the winter for skiing and I would not see them in the other seasons, so I want to Thank You for posting them and keep up the great shots.

I am in fear for all of the West, between fires, water shortage disasters, and earthquakes. Remember when earthquakes were the big fear in California?
There were earthquakes in SC yesterday. And all the hurricanes the SE has endured this year. We are all experiencing the wrath of Mother Nature. :(
