Well... it's actually a real thing to call a chicken a "meat bird". Its to distinguish them from laying hens or dual purpose breeds. For instance breeds such as Cornish Cross Broilers are known as meat birds.

Did you raise them in MA 02054? Maybe they are shipping them to a part of the country that uses that terminology, just not sure what part that is. I have been to about 30 of the 50 states and have never heard or seen that designation. Learn something new every day.
