Actually, if you’ve looked at washers and dryers these days, you’d see they have the same apps as a phone and often cost many times more.
These can be avoided, but it takes some deep shopping. When we bought our new house, it included a fancy washer and dryer. The dryer was fine, but the washer was so busy trying to save the planet that it refused to use enough water to actually clean/rinse the clothing. ESPECIALLY poly, which, as all skiers know, requires thorough rinsing.
So, after watching a bunch of youtube videos on how to "trick" the machine into using more water, it was time to shop for a replacement.
I explained my position to a nice appliance guy. Halfway through, he put up his hands in a stop motion, and said "stop, you're me, buy these". The new machine allows
me to choose the water level for the wash and rinse. Just like the olden days. Woulda thunk?!
And they were cheap enough that we came out hundreds of dollars ahead after selling the fancy, lightly used ones.
