What did I miss? Is this related to the FatMap merger?

That's a big jump.

For me, personally, zero times price hike still equals zero!

Okay, well, I jumped through some hoops to change my billing cycle from monthly to annual and now I'm back at almost the same annual cost.

I stopped using Strava back around 2016/2017. I didnt need an app to tell me I was the 159th slowest person up a climb that day! Although the one time I happened to see i was faster than Ned Overend on a segment was a huge ego stroke(he was probably riding his beach cruiser with his grandkid).

garmin connect has plenty of features for me and its free.

Agreed. If I need that kind of info, I'll pin on a number (or chip these days) and go find an actual race.

Rather than terrorize other casual users on the trail.

Though, to be fair, the vast majority of S users I know are not "that guy".

I use the free version. Which last year, I think, didn't let me review my annual stats. Bummer. Still, if you didn't Strava it, it didn't happen.

The desktop free version is a lot more complete than the mobile free version. For now :(

'Zackly.

The people I know that use Strava are total addicts.

Strava track and a pic or it didn't happen.

Did you even consider just doing Ride With GPS and Strava free ...or?

I stopped using Strava back around 2016/2017. I didnt need an app to tell me I was the 159th slowest person up a climb that day!

I stop using Strava every time I have a massive injury - and even delete the account - but then I find recovery is much much more motivated by having a new account ~30 days later.

*officially stopped using Strava in 2002 and in 2011 and in 2015 and...*

garmin connect has plenty of features for me and its free.

So having Garmin Connect and free Strava is still free :)

Obviously the tech model is to gather a critical mass of users and then start raising prices. Really though how much do people spend on their fitness and outdoor recreation and then get bugged out by a $20 burger or $50 app?

Strava is sponsoring the NEG.
Everyone will be tracked, no lame “I was there but didn’t see you guys” lines.
