Meh. It’s worth trying, but I don’t see the huge time savings. There’s a reason it’s automatic in shops.
Would save wax likely with soft waxes. Plus you’ve got to hold that thing in the air. Cold hard waxes might be difficult to spread.
Ironing wax is quite satisfying. Infra red touchless probably not as much. Since one holds the light in the air, you’re less likely to stay in one spot for long, probably less likely than an iron. But infra red is used to remove paint, it’ll bubble ptex given enough time.

There is the tried and true. Then there is the bleeding edge. Just depends on whether you get queasy at the sight of your own blood.
