Sean Connery has passed at age 90. The first James Bond, and in some peoples minds, the only one. Quite an actor

Ah, now that was a great movie. Connery & Caine, doesn't get much better.

Most Underrated Sean Connery film: Marnie gets my vote
Worst SC film: Zardos

No doubt a boomer icon of masculinity.
My dad was in the Navy for all of my childhood. In the 1960s I lived on Long Beach Naval Shipyard in California for three years at a time when I was around age 10-12. I have indelible memories of watching the first run releases of Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger (entry fee 10 cents) at the Navy base theatre full of young sailors not much older than me. Lots of catcalls every time a new Bond girl walked into the frame. I don't think my mom knew what was going on in those early Bond films or she would never have let me go unaccompanied to those shows.ogsmile I also remember vividly seeing Sean Connery starring in the Hitchcock film Marnie during those years - where a cruel sailor played by Bruce Dern has a small, but pivotal role.

I wonder of Will Ferrel is going to drop in SNL tonight for a Final Jeopardy skit?

Not only was he the quintessential James Bond but he also played King Arthur very well in the movie First Knight with Julia Ormond and Richard Gere.
