The fitting/adapter is probably available at a larger RV store or maybe on Amazon but instead I would just buy a small 5 or 10 lb refillable propane tank. They are more expensive than the 20lb standard bbq tank but because a 5 lb tank can be refueled it will cost less and be more convenient than the non refillable 1lb tank in the long run.
Great suggestion. Thank you. I think I’ll do that and then make a separate hose for the 1lb canisters. I can probably add some quick disconnect fittings at the manifold and the end of each hose so I easily an swap the hoses out. Probably better to do that than mess with any attachments.

Helps that I'm left handed----those reels are all over ebay, and you know, they just work. Same with the Fenwick classic glass---the fly fishing world is seeing a renaissance in glass rods.. You won't see me on old straight skis, but I'm loving collecting and casting all the classic glass rods I could not afford as a kid.
Left Handed. Meaning reel with the left or right hand?

I cast with the left and reel with the right. Older reels are set up for right hand reeling, while most modern reels come set up for left. It is possible to reverse them, easy on the modern reels, a bit more complicated on an old Medalist.

I cast right and reel with my left on a left hand reel that I believe is standard for fly reels for right handed people. Do you confirm this?

I do the same, cast right reel left, be it fly, spin, or baitcast. As far as a standard, it's as @newfydog says, most modern fly and spin are reversible, but casters usually need to be purchased LH.

So far just a foam mattress in the back, and a powered chiller.

Got the van a few years ago. Converted to 4x4 last fall. Slowly piecing something together. Need a roof rack next.

This was actually in the badlands of North Dakota outside Teddy Roosevelt NP.

Been about a decade since I camped in sage creek. Woke up to a bunch of bison around my 1 man bivy tent on a bike tour. Had a long lay-in that morning.

Subaru should've made the ascent have seats that could fold flat, sliding doors, and a ceiling 4" taller. That vehicle would've been $$$$$$.

We boondocked at the Badlands Overlook in Buffalo Gap Grasslands a couple years ago … great spot! (There are probably other photos earlier in thread, but I am not looking.) Wind could probably be an issue, but it was fine that night.

I have an interest in my household for a camper van. The Promaster seems more in my budget. I'm also thinking about getting just the van and making the inside livable myself.

I suspect FWD would be a must vs RWD. I don't see any 4WD, yet.
The biggest question is Diesel vs Gasoline. What is preferred for camping/traveling anywhere in the US?
