I have the Pro version of this one:

Golfguru Golf Mat, 5x4ft Golf Hitting Mats Practice with 10 Golf Balls, 9 Golf Tees, Golf Hitting Training Aids for Backyard Driving Chipping Indoor Outdoor Training https://a.co/d/irCbG4e

It’s 15mm thick and feels great so far! There still looks to be the option to use a $20 coupon for it on Amazon as well.
I wondered if it was worth the extra 7mm thickness. I bet that one is more forgiving.

It's extremely comfortable.. though I don't have anything else to compare it to either! :)

I used the cheesy little 1X1 grass matt that came with our net to mount a photo of me and Phil on the golf course.

First time with the new setup complete with water feature. Yes I did put a ball in it but no broken windows. :D Net and mat did work very well and was pretty easy to put up and tear down. Launch monitor will come at some point.

Finally got some time with my backyard practice setup this week and rapsodo launch monitor. Left the net and mat set up on my patio so I could hit some balls during lunch. The balls for the launch monitor are pricey and had to chase a few down in the field behind my house. ogsmile

Do you use special balls with your launch monitor? We just use regular golf balls.

You can use regular balls but if you want to track spin you need special balls that have a bunch of different dot patterns on them. Found a jig that you can place regular balls in and paint them to match the dots. Figured for $20 I’d give it a try,

I'm not on FB. Could I get a mfg name & model on the net?
There are a few different models like this.
Ours is a URock.
We could keep our eyes open and snag one for you if it comes up.

After posting my request for decyphering the link, I found something on local craigslist.
Unfortunately, wifey says not in our backyard. Backyard is too small and there are too many windows. Will be listed soon-ish (again on craigslist).

FWIW ... we put down more on a range key instead.

She's going to the driving range occasionally now.

History: We started golfing together 20+ years ago in group classes, and then lots of short courses w/ friends that have since departed the area. We both dropped golf when the rug rats appeared. Since my free time has increased, I've gotten back into it. She's still a working stiff, so looking on enviously. She even installed an indoor putting mat so she could have fun during work breaks.

Futures: I expect her to revisit short courses again when skills/confidence recover. Getting her on a long course will be a long term goal.

Future-futures: both kids have had lessons, but there isn't enough interest from them -- yet.
