You've got to understand. Steelers fans expect to win a Lombardi every year, and if you're a true Pittsburgh sports fan, you expect a Cup every year. Depending on how they played, a deep run into the playoffs might be acceptable. One and done or "almost made the cut" is way below the line. As for baseball, well...the Bucs won 3 World Series in my lifetime, but it's been so long that most gave up hope and joined the mortal fan base that lives in the real world.

Steelers fans don’t have anything on Packers fans in terms of expectations or history. But it also doesn’t mean any franchise is immune to reality.

Steelers fans were hoping Kenny would be to Ben what Aaron was to Brett. Maybe he still can be. Tomlin's job depends on it.

One common definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Rooney sticks with Tomlin, apparently thinking that the results are going to change.

The results haven't changed and they won't change until Rooney makes some changes. Hopefully the last two games of losing to 2-10 teams will open Rooney's eyes.

I turned the channel in the second quarter. Watching the last two games was more painful than watching the Penguins' power play. My guess is Tomlin will be back next season and his future will depend on how the season plays out. However, if there was ever a year that Tomlin and the Steelers part company, this would be the year.

I think most Steelers fans are beginning to feel Tomlin's time here might be over. There is another professional sports team head coach in this town that has been pretty much a mirror of Tomlin's performance over the same time, missing the playoffs or one and done. He also has a very talented team that has/is under performing but the fans are not screaming for his ouster. It makes me question why.

I just got back from a fun opening day at Laurel. Now I'm going to ruin the day by watching the Steelers.

And a big play puts the Steelers up. But my Dad is already griping that it's just getting hopes up and he's sure they'll be down 14 by the half.

Then a Rudolph scramble for a first down... "I'm surprised he didn't fumble..."



But at least they scored a TD so they only need 1 more according to dad.
