There is a local club here that does a program in the spring to early summer for 7th to 12th grade kids. They practice 3x a week with races over the weekend.

My kid did all the practice sessions when he didn't have baseball. He wasn't interested in racing but they wanted him for the points as he has good stamina although not so technically adept. He enjoyed it and some of practices were very long rides. The coaches were really good and teach the kids a lot. Like $100 for the whole season

Some of the kids, a few of his friends are pretty good but got banged up in the races The club always wants more girls for the points.

Tons of girls in the DEVO program. By csaual observation, there may be more female than male participants. Not sure what the driver is. Might just be Durango?
