Dave lesher reports....
"All you snow lovers out there...you're witnessing Canaan snow history today. The current snowfall event here and what is yet to come in the next 48 hours will likely set new daily, monthly and even possibly state snowfall records for the month of May."....

Well.. this all time record ongoing snow event for May...which will never be broken in my lifetime Imo...has just taken CV from having the lowest Snow total winter ever recorded to the 3rd lowest..Whew!...Long live the WV Alpps!!!!!

PS...I tried to tell everybody when the last few lean Snow years had folks wondering if Canaan Snow was soon to be a thing of the past due to warming..that it wasn't the warming but just the pattern...

No one has posted any updates since 7am. Snowed all morning on top, broke for a few hours and has been dumping again most of the afternoon.
Would love to see the 4400' stake....bet it's DEEP over at Mt Porte Crayon and the Roaring Plains...19 square mile plateau of 4400' plus to 4800'...wildlife are confused...Bears are scratching their heads...did we miss something???

Snowshoe has been stuck in a heavy feeder band for a couple of hours now...thin band just keeps feeding in....I saw that happen in Canaan one Thanksgiving ..they called for occasional light snow showers and we picked up a foot overnight...good times!
