Drop a sledge hammer on your toe from a height of three feet. Now drop it from a height of six feet. Now answer you own question, "Which has more impact?" (strictly speaking, F x t is impulse, and the usual thing is calculating "force of impact or average F, but you don't need to know all that).

It takes longer to go up and fall down though, so balance the time you have with the impact you need.
