Headgear sponsors will still be unique to each athlete who gets one. MS' Barilla sponsorship is hers alone.

And I have purchased Barilla pasta. I don't expect to purchase Stifel financial services. Jokes on them....

GB ski team has always had a corporate sponsor prominent in its name when they've been lucky enough to have one. No one cares ( well that could almost be a generic comment about GB ski team as well).

Maybe you're just not used to seeing it on the shirts of your sports teams so it feels a bit more in your face.

Kruszewski is on the board of trustees of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation and has been for years. It looks like his pals there hit him up for money so he volunteered to spend some of Stifel’s shareholders dough. It’d be pretty hard to make the case that this is a compelling investment that will promote Stifel’s business but, given his long-standing tenure as CEO there, no-one will gainsay him.

I have no problem with it on the shirts of sports teams, but I can never remember which Stif(f)el is extra effed.

Admittedly I never paid attention to Putnam or Stefil until they sponsored ski racing and I’m their demographic so it’s not entirely wasted marketing.
