Changes in base is what is felt. Sides doesn’t do as much difference to the performance / feel. 0.5-0.7 bases a starting point for race/piste skis on hard surfaces. 88 or 87 on the side, not that much difference as long as it’s sharp — from tip to tail. No detuning folks.
For variable conditiions and off piste, I’m happy with 1ish degree bases and 88 on the sides. YMMV.

I was thinking more along the lines of a tapered edge angle, maybe 3 to 2 radiating outwards. Base edges aren’t out of question, but I would have to test it first and as mentioned, I ski them with a burr on the side until I ski it off.
