You will receive a Private Message like this ...
Hey Buddy,

I recently purchase items from a member here "Member Name", "specific product" are among the items he's willing to part out with. You can email him at "redirecting e-mail" if he still have it available for sale.
If you get a PM like this, please do a post report and we will ban the member.

If you are the one trying to get one over on another reader, know that you have been figured out so don't bother.

After receiveing a Private Message from @udailey we looked further into it and it seems that this member sent private messages to 9 different members. We know of two specifically, but want to make sure that no one was taken for a ride by this guy.

Please contact us if @tomtanner89 has reached out to you.

Well, there is a new one. We had one account hacked and e-mail changed then they posted ads. Keep any eye in your e-mails for this e-mail...

Your email at SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector was recently changed to [email protected] (the hacker's e-mail). If you made this change, you may ignore this message.
If you did not request this change, please log in and change your password and email address. If you are unable to do this, please contact an administrator.

Out of curiosity, how did they have the account? Guess? Weak password? Human intel? Or known vulnerability in the software?

We just had another issue with an account being hacked. If the deal seems too good to be true, even with a member that you are familiar with, very well it might be, do your do diligence to confirm. Also only use payment methods that you can track and have recourse if a deal is not fulfilled.

Established users who's accounts that have been compromised.

I think there are three red flags here that we have to look for, images that have been reused, prices that are too good to be true and multiple items posted in a short period of time. If ANYONE sees this, please do a post report immediately. @Dwight, @Tricia or myself can go into the back end and look to see if the e-mail in the account has been changed or any suspicious activity.
