Flawed poll. Wasn't it K2 Fours he pioneered racing on shaped skis on?
Then your answer would be "i". Guess I should add an "i". ;)

I am fairly confident that you are thinking of Bode Miller. From what I remember, he won a bunch of junior races on the K2 Four. Plake was well into his "extreme" skiing career when the Four came out.

K2 four. He got a lot of crap at first for racing with ‘hourglass skis’, until he started winning and winning again. In hindsight it is clear that the crap was crap.

I also think of Lindsey Vonn racing on Bode's Head skis...

I have zero brand association with him, he's just a ski racer that skied on equipment.

I chose Bomber because that was the first in a series of really questionable decisions I associate with him.

…other than walking away from Head.

If you told me he just signed with a new ski company, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Is he still with Crosson?

He is the Chief Innovation Officer for Crosson.

If that doesn’t show a long term commitment to a brand (for a couple of models they don’t actually make but are produced for them by Utopie, as opposed to their high-tech freestyle and free ride skis they make in Seattle which are innovative but he had absolutely nothing to do with), then I don’t know what does.

I may have failed to make my intended irony clear. He’ll lose interest in Crosson as soon as the next shiny thing comes along, and they will lose interest in him if they don’t actually sell many of the models he’s “innovated.”

I sorta feel sorry for Phil and Tricia. They have to go do brand meet and greet type stuff with Bode but probably don't want him checking out the forum to see what skitalkers really think about his brand associations.

Looking at it another way, he's probably grateful for P&T's custody of the playpit where all the bratty kids can squee or bawl until they get tired and go to sleep.
