My 23/24 quiver just got smaller. Decided to retire from Slalom racing and sold my Racetiger Speedwall SL's. Now I am down to 5 pair of skis. Oh, poor pitiful me! I will have to survive this season on the following skis.
Volkl Racetiger Speedwall GS 180cm I still am racing GS, a bit of a specialist now. I rarely take them out on non race days.
Rossignol Experience 82 TI 168cm This is my local mountain ski for smaller hills. It is new this season replacing a Deacon 80 as I didn't quite bond with it. I like this ski so much I think I will drag it across the country with me for my 6 week odyssey! Will bring it out for groomer days or for skiing with my GF and Nephew, both of whom don't venture off piste and ski a bit slower than me.
Nordica Enforcer 88 179cm Love this ski! Carves well, handles mixed snow like nobody's business! This ski is for skiing the North East, just came home from Killington and it shined!! Will also take this out west for firmer days when I just want to rip! I originally bought this ski to replace a Bonafide, which replaced an Experience 98. I was tired of lugging a fatter ski out west and not having the goods to enjoy it. It fit the bill quite nicely!
Blizzard Rustler 9 180cm (previous version at 94mm underfoot) Another lovefest with this ski! Not as burly as a Mantra or Bonafide, but plenty tough for me! Still carves well on groomers and if you can believe it, handles mixed snow better than my Enforcers! Very stable at my speeds of 40-50 MPH. If I had bought this ski before my Enforcers, I might not have them as the Rustler's pretty much do everything I want in a western daily driver. Was fantastic last year at Mammoth after a 24" dump!
Head Kore 105 180cm Why do I own this ski? I never seem to hit the resorts at the right time to really enjoy its soft snow powers! The very reason I got rid of the Bones. Bought these a season before I bought my Rustlers. Again, probably would not have if I already owned the Rustlers as the Rustler 9's are that good in soft snow. But, buy I did at a great price as a leftover ski from pervious season. Took them to Colorado the first season and used them twice, neither time were they needed. But they skied well. Took them to Tahoe and wished I had my Enforcers as snow was firm. Took them with me to Colorado last season when I drove and took 3 pairs, but never used them. I am leaving to drive west to Colorado again for 5 weeks (including Utah, Idaho and Wyoming), not even sure I will throw them in the top box as snow out west is marginal right now. I will say that when I had these skis in softer snow they performed very well! They even managed the firm snow conditions in Tahoe without much complaint but wasn't the best tool for the job. Will probably sell soon while they are still worth something.
There you have it, my 2023/2024 ski quiver.
