This line jumper tired to get first chair last Friday. Even had a mask on yet our lifties made him move out of the way. Guy in Kilt looks like he wanted the honors.

Not the best shot as it’s in the shadow, but I had my
first in the wild rattlesnake encounter, at Joshua Tree National Park.
Luckily the people on the trail ahead of us pointed it out.
ive taken care of a few rattlesnake bite victims at work; definitely kept my distance. And it did look like a stick until we were closer.

I found this photo in my garage today. This was the day after I proposed to @AKMINK back in August of 1990. Kitty Kitty was walking down the logging road as we were heading home from camping near Bucks Lake, CA. She was wondering why she said "yes" to a guy who would get OUT of the truck to take a photo of an apex predator, then follow it down the hill off the road into the trees. In my excitement I didn't get the focus very good. The cat was only about 10-20 yards away.

Just got back from a couple days at Zion National Park and could post a half dozen photos in this thread, but here are two:

Saw this the other morning on our walk. She was just getting started laying, though, and we didn’t want to stick around and disturb her. Although, she was right next to the bike path, which was getting allot of use, so she wasn’t going to have much privacy, anyway.

Saw a bald eagle family today. The picture was taken from too far away with a lens that wasn't nearly long enough, but I got what I got. The nest was huge. It's been there a while, with more sticks added each year. One adult has just hopped off the nest and is landing on a nearby branch. The other is still in the nest (partially obscured by a branch in front) with a chick that is not flying yet but is nonetheless pretty big.
