I guess I was fortunate that when I went glacier skiing I didn't run into any of that type of ice.

The surface for the World Cups was certainly injected at some point but it still shows all the ripples and holes (that have been filled with snow). That would be a bumpy ride for the athletes.

The guy skidding down like an hopeless beginner is actually an "Istruttore Nazionale" (National Instructor), you can tell from the jacket.
This is the very top level you can achieve in the Italian ski school.

Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see the first run listed for tomorrow's GS. Peacock only lists the second run of both the GS and SL at 1:00PM EST for upcoming events. Are they going to show either of the first runs from Killington?

First runs are on Outside TV.

Oh of course! It looks like they're on live. Wondering if I will get a chance to watch replays if I miss the live show.

Replays of both runs are on Outside+ and Peacock (probably not the free version), per everything I've seen.
