New is that they go two runs, one in each course through out, so today blue course ended up faster but it didn't matter.

I watched the whole race and was surprised that Petra won. She looked off and didn't ski well until semi finals. Moltzan on fire the whole day and looked strong. It is very different to a normal race and there are always unsuspected names.

On slightly different note... Chiara Mair tested positive on morning, that's reason she didn't start... and that's where charade starts. She took another test, tested negative, then tested positive and on evening, during final runs there was fourth test and now she's negative.
Maybe it's just me, but it certainly looks ridiculous. Now imagine it's World championships day, and your medal is gone and on the end it was just false positive test. I'm sure guys from FIS will say sorry buddy more luck in 2 years, it's surely no big deal, right?
We all still agree all is cool and fair?

Fair? No. Cool? Yes.

Is it more fair to cancel the event for everyone with a chance to win a medal and potentially ruin a bunch of people's chances?

The issue to me sounds like testing problems... not holding- the- event problems.

I’m always little late posting out here in the Wild West but what a fun race to watch with lots of twists & turns. 3 in a row for Vlhova & what a great Thanksgiving day for US skier Moltzan! Honorable mention to Gut-Berhrami, Hector, Bassino, Brignone & all the other lesser knowns who showed some brilliance today. I do think it would’ve been a different result sheet if Brignone hadn’t stumbled in the start on her first race against Vlhova, along with a few other if, ands & buts ogwink. Hey, that’s ski racing!

I agree but Vlhova remained focused, got a couple of breaks & hung in there. Vlhova only led by .22 going into the last run against emotionally charged Moltzan which l thought she would’ve probably overcome on the faster blue course had she not fallen.

All in all this race was much closer to my imagined format than we’ve seen previously. Add a little more vertical with a few more turns & l think it can be worthwhile. I would still like to see it evolve to have it’s own ski with a tighter radius for the SL specialists but this is good for now.

l could be wrong but the courses looked to be further apart on the hill for added safety .

This is a bit off topic as it has nothing to do with the end result, but I am curious if spectators were allowed and if not where did all the people cheering for Vlhova come from? She was the only one with audible fans.

No audience allowed. That must have been organizers, people working. Don’t know if it’s possible to ”sneak in” there.

I think they’re doing like American football, lots of entourages & some selected VIP invitees. There sure was a loud chant for “Petra, Petra” at the end.
