XC Ski Base "Rejuvenation"

My skate ski bases are pretty shiny after many years, and probably a few waxes with the iron set a bit on the warm side.

I don't have reasonable access to anybody willing to stone-grind xc skis.

Anybody have any poor man's workarounds that will get me close?

Well, I've done the purposely-burred Bahco scraper route, Maybe I'll get lucky with that.

The XC riilers just press in the structure, and it seems to disappear in two outings.

Fun Story: Two days ago, I was on an xc play date with an old friend. He felt my pain, and insisted I try his skis. So I promptly skied away from him and finished the loop!

Of course, I retraced my steps back to him afterwards, but I had him wondering enough that there was no such offer made on loop #2.
