<IF> the roads are not open and/or resorts are closed on Sunday which the way it looks is pretty probable at this point. For the folks staying in Reno, we will have a casual GTG at SkiTalk HQ to work on and talk skis and boots. We can wax, we can tweek boots, foot beds, canting assessment and other fun things.

This is why I started the Reno Roll Call thread...

Heck, if there is enough snow, we can ski Chez Ziggy's Back Bowls ;)

This will be a pot luck happening so if you can bring something to eat and/or drink that would be appreciated.

Please replay here if you are thinking about joining us because it will be better than being cooped up in a hotel room

Address:
6495 Yellow Bird Dr. Reno.

Also a good alternate plan if you can’t get parking reservations for Sunday.

I probably won’t make it since I’ll be staying around Tahoe, but I’ll try to bring some kielbasa, bread, and condiments if I do.

I've changed my flight to come into Reno late Friday night. I'll be in Reno until we can get to our rental in Tahoe City. So, might be a few hours or a few days.

I might be interested in waxing, if stuck. Toe punch, maybe. (That is NOT a cocktail!)

Any more assessment, evaluation, speculation, adjustments, or similar will probably send me over the edge, since my season has already consisted of 90% attempting to work out issues and 10% actual skiing. Happy to drink while OTHERS are over-analyzing, however. :)

It's looking likely that I'm spending Saturday night in Reno... and just waiting Sunday until I can get through to Palisades.

So I'm game and happy to bring stuff... I'm thinking charcuterie!

That said, @Philpug ... what time? Are you trying to hold the 8:45 AM meetup time we would have had at Palisades? :P

If this comes in like it says, we'll be here, hanging and watching ski movies.

Well if we have to….
Our game plan at this time. We land at noon on Saturday. (me, Terese (my wife) and @pipestem)
Option 1- hope for the best and drive to Tahoe City Saturday. Highly doubtful!

Plan B- grab a couple rooms in Reno, then head to Mt Rose for a half day Sunday afternoon. Looking more doubtful as the weekend gets closer.

If these don’t work out, then party at SkiTalk HQ sounds like a winner.

But I did score free parking on Sunday so I still kinda hope to use it.

We’re definitely not braving the feeding frenzy at Pali. If this get together is a go… I’ll bring corned beef and cabbage. Hey… my parents were both from Ireland and this is not really Irish food but they became addicted so … it’s traditional anywhere from mid February onwards!

also my left boot needs …a little … something?

I might be up for a boot evaluation/suggestions for new boot.

Either that or gamble away my time at a casino.

@Dean and I are flying into Reno Friday afternoon. If we can't get to the condo outside Tahoe City before Sunday morning, this sounds like a great consolation prize. Costco fare most likely contribution.

Boot tinkering would be a nice bonus.

Wishing everyone a great gathering and safe traveling around the area. My plans didn't allow to make it up there this year and who knew there would be too much snow!!!!! You can't write this stuff. Can't wait for good pix from the white room. Stay safe, avoid tree wells and maybe throw on your beacon....certainly can't hurt.

Definitely! We'll be at the gathering all days. We can take a run or two but I'm sticking to groomers. Bob will be looking for something more adventurous though.
John’s wife Trish is one of my favorite people in the world, I’m looking forward to hanging out with her après next week.

OK, I might stop by in a bit and bring my boots with me this time.
