Attention ski dads & ski moms: Keely's Camp is running a taking applications for their camp scholarship. The camp is a 3 day backcountry touring camp for girls ages 11-17, that covers the basics on using your gear and basic avalanche safety. Sponsorship also includes a full backcountry setup and some softgoods/accessory pieces.
I wish I had gotten the opportunity to start touring. Backcountry recreation has taught me so much good communication skills, strong partnerships, and the importance of speaking up in group decisions. They're lessons that really would've benefited me when I first started working (and, tbh, even more so when I first started dating). But it's also a really expensive activity to get into, which is where the scholarship steps in.
If there's an 11-17 year old skier in your life, it's definitely worth checking out the scholarship and more about the camp:
