Do you use Relive?
Do you use Relive?
I use MapMyRide but load it onto Relive sometimes. I’ve resisted the Strava culture since the beginning.Do you use Relive?
I like Relive. Simple to use and the free version is still pretty good. I don't know if the $5/month for the full app is worth it for me.I use MapMyRide but load it onto Relive sometimes. I’ve resisted the Strava culture since the beginning.
If I didn’t start with MapMyRide years ago and have all my statistics there, I would probably just use Relive all the time. BTW I only use the free version of both.I like Relive. Get it while the air is good! Always a favorite place to ride, especially with hero dirt! I might head that way this week. You should bug @utskier to ride this Friday or Saturday. He'll be a temporary bachelor as I'm heading to St. George for a tennis tournament.I had to escape the off the charts smoke in Tahoe and returned to Utah yesterday. The fact that the National Forest & many State Parks are closed made the decision easier.
Quite an improvement in the air quality with hero dirt to boot!
Rode one of my favorite loop de loop routes in North Fork Park this morning...

Ahh, the "steps" on Wheeler! Never have conquered them--I don't ride them often enough and I swear, one of the gang ALWAYS crashes on them when we're in a group. I'll be on the trails locally on Sunday provided the AQI supports it.I hope the tournament is indoors, gets pretty hot in St. George this time of year!
Got to ride another favorite loop today up by Snowbasin. Not quite the hero dirt of the last few days but still far from dusty...

Tournament is outside, it's going to be brutal as the courts are about 10 degrees hotter than actual air temps. It'll make the matches here in Davis County feel cool so there's that. Good lessons in hydration and fueling with calories.
They can get coached after every two games during set breaks. My daughter is easily cheated on. It pisses me off to no end. Her opponent yesterday quickly realized she was playing against a talented, yet meek freshman, and proceeded to repeatedly fudge the score and make very obviously questionable line calls. My daughter told me after the match that she knew it, and was afraid to say anything. One of these days, she's going to get fed up with it and get mad. Then I say look out, because she can really hit. So, the lack of line judges in HS tennis is maddening. My daughter can handle the mental game for the most part, but she doesn't know what to do when a player is cheating. Cheaters only win for so long...Sorry for the thread drift, but I'm curious: At your daughter's level, are players prevented from communicating with their coach once a match starts?
I've always thought that was one of the most interesting things about pro tennis. Gotta do your own pep talks, calm yourself down when the temper rises, observe your opponents weakness of the day all on your own.....
The trick is to not be in your lowest/easiest gear, more power in a slightly bigger gear & just keep pedaling. Set it up before you cross the bridge. The turn is the intimidating part...Ahh, the "steps" on Wheeler!
I agree with @4ster about using a bigger gear and more speed. That always works for me unless the wood is wet and slippery. I have seen a few good riders crash there when the wood was wet.The trick is to not be in your lowest/easiest gear, more power in a slightly bigger gear & just keep pedaling.
I've got the gearing down but it's the turn that gets me. I just won't commit to it! AQI up that way looks good this morning--see you in a couple hours! The trick is to not be in your lowest/easiest gear, more power in a slightly bigger gear & just keep pedaling. The real challenge was before they put in the helper steps.
Let’s ride Sunday!
Perfect ride today, thanks!Great ride with @4ster at Powder Mountain today. The smoke was literally probably half a mile south of us. Air quality to the south was not stellar, but to the north it was green and interestingly stayed at a lower altitude like a winter inversion. It stayed good for our entire ride. Closer to 13 miles and 1200 vert. Still not too dusty, and not many people on the trails.
