One of my ski friends had to cancel his trip to Taos and room at Alpine Village Suites for next week because if an injury.
It's a spacious king bed room that is still available for 01/28-02/04 dates. Alpine Village Suites is a great place to stay at the resort base. I stayed there a few times and I am staying this year too.
This is why I love skiing with Sandy. After skiing Longhorn, I say "do you want to finish off the day with a groomer?"
"Sure, let's go up chair 2 and ski Blitz"
You notice she doesn't say no, she just pretends Blitz is a groomer.
We went through the rabbit hole and then punched through the trees into the next chute.
The snow in there had barely been skied. I'll bet Stauffenberg is even better.
Hint - when you punch through the trees, take the lower traverse over the ridge. The upper one required some downclimbing (or more guts than I have).
Sandy and I got to ski a couple hours with Doreen this afternoon. (All but the last couple Sandy mentioned -- Al's, Edelweiss, Etchs, and a bunch of bump laps.) She is a great skier, and a lot of fun. Thanks!
