I don’t know if this is in the wild - perhaps more like captivity since it’s behind a window on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills . Nonetheless, it’s an F-3!(?) and it’s pretty cool. It’s too easy to get jaded about cars in Los Angeles but if I see a great car , I go full tourist and take the picture

Yea, what is the deal with the weird, solid'ish wheels on many EVs?
Neighbor has a Mercedes 'lectric with wheels that look to be an issue in a serious cross-wind.
Renault R5 in @Philpug's post has some.
Is there some sort regeneration benefit to that style of wheel?

Probably aerodynamics when going in a straight line.

The crosswinds aren't really a problem in cars with solid rims, not enough force to generate a significant moment. The big problem used to be cooling the brakes. I imagine most EVs use less brakes than ice cars so maybe that's not an issue. And it's definitely for aero reasons.
