@Mendieta started this thread in November and it’s now February. Did the beginner friend choose a spot?
She's chickening out a bit :D . But this info is great for anybody reading, and many people read without ever posting. She will come to Alpine when she's ready to see the light

Skaters learn very quickly. Be sure and tell the agent about that. I have never had a student that skated, need more than one lesson to get them on Blue runs. Take a lesson, then practice for awhile, then take another. No sense paying for practice time if they do well.
. With luck the instructor will let you shadow the lesson. Just shut up and let them teach. Help your friend up when she crashes to save the Instructor is all you are there for. With luck you will be able to help her along in practice and in the second lesson. If the first instructor was a dud, bitch to the agent and get another.
Good luck. She will be rocking it if she doesn't get scared. Think 8 year old kid. Fun fun fun can't get hurt faster ain't this great...
