Good thing they were friendly. Angry swans are no joke. Canada Geese have a bad rap but swans are like their tougher cousins that have dealt with some s*** and aren't going to take any of yours.
Yes, they can be nasty. When I am out in my kayak I give them plenty of room. I have seen them attack the ducks if the ducks try to get near their food.

Some more shots of fall in British Columbia.

Taken on the Pend Oreille (for those from the US) or Pend D'Oreille River just north of the US border with various mountains in the background. October 18.

Bridal Lake on Kootenay Pass, Stagleap Provincial Park. Pray for snow. Elevation is a little over 5,800 feet. October 20.

Storm clouds on Bombi Pass near Castlegar, BC. If you look carefully, you can see a tiny sliver of the Columbia River in lower center. October 20.

Finally getting some rain. The blue wheelbarrow is under the roof drain from our 5th wheel. The orange one was just sitting in the open. It started raining about 12 hours ago. Maybe 4-5" in the orange one.

:eek:That is an insane amount of rain, especially in a normally dry place. I hope there weren't too many issues with flash floods.

Check this post out in the Wildfire thread. Flash flooding is an issue but landslides are going to be insane.

yeah, we are headed back March/April. The North Shore area is just incredible. My wife found this awesome place to stay. This ocean ws about 20' from the back door.
Great hiking on the North Shore too. The Park is incredible; wouldn't be hard to get permanently lost there.

for sure, some of those pics were taken from the hike along the coast. That was pretty wild, steep rocky up/down but incredible! We had torrential rain on the way back, water cascading down the trail. It was really fun though.
