we’ll, we’re late. Just leaving snowshed lodge. Is there a straggler meet up? If not, lunch spot?

I’m in my usual yellow helmet, blue jacket, orange pants. Peter is black and khaki. Heading to the superstar region….
Your helmet is green. Glad you found us in the end!

Well, I'm missing out on all the fun on this bluebird Saturday at Killington. Two things happened. I sprained my wrist in a little fall onto a pole grip on Thursday in the sticky glop at Sugarbush with @Tony S. and LakesPapa from EpicSki. To top that injury off, after getting back from the hospital where I had the xrays done (no broken bones showing), I immediately came down with either 1) food poisoning, 2) stomach virus, or 3) Covid variant attacking the gut. Two days of intestinal yuk.

Oh well.... I'm sitting this one out, cautiously. I hate being cautious. I'm stabilizing the wrist to avoid further damage, and doing my civic duty for NEGatheringers who shouldn't be exposed to my infection.

It's beautiful out my window so I'm assuming it's great skiing up on the slopes. Grab some extra fun for me.

Perfect day at Killington with the NEG Skitalk posse. Thanks to Guy In Shorts, Pinnacle Jim, Marker and others for their intimate knowledge and guidance around the mountain. Fresh snow, bluebird skies and great company made for a wonderful experience with nice people and excellent skiers.

Special thanks to Guy In Shorts for hosting the tailgate party and thanks to Kevin F. for organizing the event. One more day to look forward to!

Saw this sign at the top at K1 Gondola and laughed in Mad River Glen. There were a few patchy spots with dirt, grass and a rock or two, but for the most part I thought coverage was pretty darn good. Eminently skiable with ample open terrain.

Nice meeting the handful of folks today and had a great time skiing with @skiki!

My camera had a bit of trouble with excessive contrast, but that is @Dean looking good on Highline near the end of the day.

@Pumba looking good too

And @zircon was looking good too. (this isn't an accurate representation of the color of his jacket. It is cooler in real life)

Great day at Killington. Pretty crowded in spots but no real waits except maybi gondi before lunch.

Driving up the “short cut” off rte 4 by Skyeship. This was brown and raining going up yesterday. Road got snowy in places making for some rally action. I heard road to Bear got snarled with people skidded off.

Real pow. It was probably 3 ft deep in that wind pack, but you never know if there's something frozen inside.

@Guy in Shorts admiring Skyhawk. Don’t think guy in hood was with us. In the old days you only needed one hand to count attendees. Now you need two to figure out how many you lost on that last run.

Top was not windy at this moment and was warm. @mdf , @zircon. @SKI-3PO wondering if we’re really going. Wait, there’s the guy with arctyrex gloves again in the green jacket.

Top of north ridge chair. How to get skitalkers to pay attention- climb random slope so they wonder what you’re doing and how badly it will end.

@DebbieSue . Her first time down Outer Limits in the sea of bumps.
Bear was like a different climate. Those bumps were soft corn but odd shapes in general.

BMMC course . Pretty good crowd. Too hot to hang out. We fled back to winter.

End of day, headed up Superstar 3:53. Not the soft snow of yesterday, Mikaela would’ve liked the solid. surface. Skied the sides of the wales. Chunky refrozen junk obligated us to keep skiing it. Then some woods action skier’s right for a little soft cold snow and a quiet ending to the day.

Hope @dbostedo found @TheArchitect this afternoon when we went the other way.

The free heeler skiing with us today is Tele Rich. I spend most days with a front row seat to some the of the most amazing turns on the mountain. He skis 100 plus days a winter season then hikes 100 plus days in the warm weather. He also shows up to the mountain a hour early each day and saves my parking spot.
