I know I'm still trying to figure this whole skiing thing out, but you're supposed to stay on the white stuff, right?

There were two questionable leaders giving questionable advise. One victim!I know I'm still trying to figure this whole skiing thing out, but you're supposed to stay on the white stuff, right?
more likely I was just taking a leak.
one of the best things about the new ski off location! Bathrooms right there in the Whistlestop!
Ya!You guys that old?
I've skied with the King and he totally took care of me so I didn't die. (Important to note - we were not on his level of terrain, but mine. He took my husband other places . . .)Geez, y’all are not inspiring any desire to ski with you.
@James is coming at it from the other side. Don't worry, there will be plenty of Bad Ideas. (SM) Even more if @A Grump attends.I've skied with the King and he totally took care of me so I didn't die. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good picture. The phrase "thread decay" comes to mind about now.
In @JohnL 's defense, he really did get bad advice. I heard it and watched the performance. It was like he was trying to demonstrate skiing in a game of charades. You know, on orange shag carpet in someone's rec room.
True - even though I haven't met him I know that just from reading. Thought maybe I'd reassure some others, though, who might be reading this. This group can sound pretty intimidating sometimes.@James is coming at it from the other side.
Grump isn’t the problem out there...I've skied with the King and he totally took care of me so I didn't die. (Important to note - we were not on his level of terrain, but mine. He took my husband other places . . .)
Hmm, so it's me?Grump isn’t the problem out there...
No no no, that’s not what he meant!Hmm, so it's me?
Just thought I'd better check, lol!No no no, that’s not what he meant!
He meant “the other side!”
I just stumbled across one of those generic "intro to ski area X" articles. It is short, but it has a good description of what the different parts like "frontside" and "backside" mean, and this excellent illustration of, for example, where the "lower frontside" is. The prominent straight line you see is Al's Run.

That is a great article about Taos. I love how they talk about the founder Ernie Blake and mention Jean Mayer and Alain. Ernie's son Peter Blake is an instructor at Taos and he is great, I took 2 ski weeks with him, one of which was with @ADKmel , we both posted about it in this thread already.I just stumbled across one of those generic "intro to ski area X" articles.
