Am I tempted by the thing? Or by the gold ano?

Aenomaly Switchgrade:

Note: stated to be compatible with TranzX and PNW Loam so conceivably useable with 27.2 frames and posts.

Know what I totally want in gold ano? Skewer wing nuts like the old Hurets. Modern-ish thread, ofc.
Stylish.. can you imagine being Huret wing nut snob and then Campy quick release smug guy dusts you?? Throw the bike down, "stupid wing nuts!!!'. :roflmao:

This is why I want the wings just on the nut side :)

I mean, seriously, imagine an Onipax Leaf with a wing nut on the other side.

And it's not like I'm the first one to think of replacing knurled cylinders with something more grabbable. Here's one for hand planes:

That Switchgrade looks like a recipe for disaster.

Seatpost insertion test, anybody?!

Well, one temptation gone - I no longer have to obsess about mid-foot pedaling and Catalyst pedals. The link to get the special gold ano ones is dead.

Got some friends that drank the midfoot pedaling kool-aid.. they seems to like the pedals for bikepacking.

I still don't see what problem the switchgrade solves in a realistic riding situation.

That's a good point - heavy loaded efforts with low foot speed.

In that vein, if herself should ever be able to ride a tandem again, I might look into the Catalysts for her to stoke with.

I have to squint pretty hard but I can sort of see it as being useful for weird frame/post combos. Or an MTB that spends a lot of time on jumps.

You aren’t tempted by this. Because you are fully aware that lugs only work if steel on steel. Even carbon on carbon has it risks and Ti on carbon is a liability.

*shrug* on the other hand, I've ridden enough Allez Epics, Alans, Giant Cadex and Trek internal-lug bikes to be already mostly dead?
