Thanks for the bump. I've got to get my (gold) PowerCranks going and picture-worthy this spring. It's gonna hurt riding PowerCranks again after many years.

I don't really understand this thread, and don't pay attention to the bike stuff. What are you looking to split off? What the hell is "bloo"?

You're going to actually make me read this thread, aren't you?

Are we doing bloo this year?

This not painted right? Anodized?

What was that about titanium when you anodize it? You do one thing and it gets blue or do the other and it gets orange, right? What was it-the voltage, temperature?

Voltage - the coating acts as a capacitor. You manage the current to get uniform deposition and fewer pinholes.

Temperature based shading is totally a thing with blueing of steel.

That said, the one @scott43 posted is Alu and dyed.

Dudes…a serious question…where do we stand on crank arm length?
I have always been on 172.5 but now I am considering going shorter-as in 170. Alleviate some hip pains, make higher cadence easier and stuff…
What could possibly go wrong?

I had 170s on my fixed gear, for clearance reasons, and I have 175s on everything else. I ride 58 cm frames. I could definitely notice the difference, and felt at a disadvantage when it was time to put power down on the fix. Didn't climb much on that bike, but for spinning in the flats it was great.
