It would be a fun series to go to and see the record broken but we blew the NYC budget up a few weeks ago up with a rooftop patio.

Signing Judge to a 5 year would most likely require a multi player mega deal. Easier to go 7 and eat it on the back end. Maybe a reverse curse of Bambino is in order, but we need starting pitching like two years ago and have Bogarts and Devers due soon. Devers would be worth his weight in gold to NY.

Judge says we will talk to all 30 teams but lets be honest, it is a 3 team race, Mets, Yankees and Sawx.

Not the Sox. Maybe the Mets. Steve Cohen is the only owner rich enough to legitimately ask himself “what’s the most fun way to blow a billion dollars?”

Judge wants more than 7 years. That’s what blew up the deal this year. He’s gonna want a deal for the rest of his career. He’ll never be in a stronger position than after an MVP season. It won’t be any trade either. He’s a free agent and will go wherever he wants.

Ok...time to continue the legend of the Judge. My 12 yr old ballplayer and I watched the game last night. We thought he had it on his last swing...he caught the barrel and just missed it. Can we talk about the throw from RF?! 95 MPH on a rope...watch the glove of the SS...he has it in position and he doesn't have to adjust it..just holds it there. Absolutely PERFECT throw on a rope.

I pulled the following numbers from Jason Stark's column today from the Athletic:

Judge has SCORED 123 runs this year...obviously he has knocked himself in 60 times. He leads in that category by over 30 runs which has only be done 3 times in history..the legendary Rickey Henderson in 1985, the Babe in 1927 and a guy named Ross Barnes in 1876. There's more.

He has 376 total bases this season, only 7 players have ever reach 400 in a season and Jim Rice of the Red Sox is the only player in the last 85 years to do it in the AL..but there's more.

Going into last nights game here is where he stands in all the major statistical categories:

He led the AL in homers – by 23!

• He led the AL in RBIs – by 13!

• He led the AL in walks – by 11!

• He led the AL in extra-base hits – by 11!

• He led the AL in OPS – by 91 points!

• He led the AL in most times on base – by 22!

• He led in all three Triple Crown categories — and all three slash line triple crown categories (OBP/SLUG/OPS).

He has no historical peer with this type of total domination to include the Babe, T. Williams or anyone.

This is history...if you love baseball or sports...you are watching it happen before your eyes. Can't wait to see what his contract is and what bet on himself. The only thing that will limit it at all is his age and whatever length of contract he wants.

Am hoping he does it in Toronto ( I catch most games on the radio or the TV here in Halifax). The TV broadcast will be cool with all the slo mo and analytics, a bit of sport history just laid out before your eyes.

What’s up with Cleveland clinching a playoff spot? Mid season the Red Sox announcers were commenting on how bad Cleveland was.

It was interesting listening to Barry Bonds talk hitting and hitting coaching last night on Espn Sunday night baseball Michael Kay/Arod talk.

I think you are misremembering, there was controversy over Dennis Eckersley calling the Pittsburgh Pirates line-up "pathetic". He wasn't wrong. Cleveland is an okay team in a terrible division. When you play 76 games against the '22 White Sox, Twins, Tigers and KC, well... you make the playoffs.

It’s Dennis Eckersley’s last season broadcasting. So Boston loses Jerry Remy and Denny Eckersley in the same season. The team has a losing record. The Yankees go wire to wire. Tough year for RS fans.

Eck is pretty overrated in the booth, but ... better than most of the others.
Remy was never the same after losing Orsillo, but, he's a legend.
The team is god-awful. Yanks are very good.

Nope, it was Cleveland. Now, it could have been Dave O’Brien talking to one of the WEEI people on air. I was being nice in their assessment, it was pretty disparaging. But it was back when the Red Sox were decent.

But it’s baseball and lots of things happen. The A’s, now 56-97, beat the Astros, 101-53, 9 times this year.
