Yep @Jim Kenney and (can't remember Aaron's handle here) threw some great family friendly parties over the years too. Hope the tradition continues with the next generation of ski families..
Thanks, Charles.
And if they build it, we will come.

I really hope interest remains for this annual endeavour though. Empty nest and I'm there.. especially if it ends up out by Asheville, Cataloochee, Wolf (Biltmore) or someplace else where there's stuff for non skiing wife to do. With the kids out she might be bored enough to ride along and just sit by the fire reading while we ski..
Well, lets put some gears in motion...see if maybe we can put something together. You're right -- I think the recent takeover at Timberline needs to be investigated!
Sugar to open at 9am...I'll be there tomorrow night for Tuesday first ski day of season for me.Well, well...according to Ski Southeast, Sugar and Cataloochee are both looking to open tomorrow, Monday Nov 14th. No official word on either websites, so..?????
I am teaching at Sugar part-time this season and skiing there the rest of the time. Look forward to meeting you.BTW, this will be my first season at the ski areas of NC. If anyone is interested in meeting up mid-week at any of the areas near Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk, hit me up.
It's happening! Sugar is open.Guns are on in NC!...I have been told Sugar Mountain to open early this week.
At Sugar, there is not a lot of terrain open yet, but a couple of chairs running, including to the top. The snow underfoot is exceptional for this time of year, as long as the cold holds on. Blowers make viz challenging.Reports from Sugar @David Orr (or anyone else?)
Skied 3 days this week and of course 3 VERY DIFFERENT Days...Reports from Sugar @David Orr (or anyone else?)
