265mm - length seems to be good, its the heel lock that was problematic for my wife. A combination of more cork (zipfit), shims, and footbed seemed to help a bit but she is still curious to how a tighter heel would translate on the slopes
That’s not the problematic 275 bsl short lasted liner boot so ya got that going for you.

Oohhh good point, I'll forward that to her! Should be said that several boot fitters in the mammoth area measured her smaller foot at 21.5 so thats why she was interested in trying the smaller boot. She did report having issues with the heel moving side to side but that all relatively went away after the bootfitter added cork and all that magic
We really concentrate on holding the VAMP down in this situation
A zip fit can take up the space to fix this issue

the other solution is a boot with a smaller vamp
That is not the 21.5 Lange RS110 or the 21.5 dalbello
The pocket is more generous than the 22.5 Mach 1 LV

You may end up in race plug land

But if the zipfit is doing the job keep skiing it

23.5 filled with concrete

C'mon dude, don't be so dramatic. I know for a fact that they don't use concrete.
They are a marketing oriented corporation using the best proprietary product available in the open market.

TBH, I think their foam looks a lot like the Sika stuff I have been using.

Sika Post Fix

Is that how you became a fitter. Got a job at HD first?

OMG, I snorted wine out my nose when I read this. Yah. Absolutely. You never do that. And I never use obnoxiously big words, wear my wine snoot on my sleeve, or display general contempt for The Man.

So funny.

So you're gonna foam your own boots at home?

Come to think of it. We don't need no stinkin' Surefoot. We should have a boot foaming party at the Taos gathering. Couple pack of Sika will do about 20 pairs.

I learned something about setting fence posts.

I still think a tech like Fischer scan app can cross check your foot shape to last shapes to see which one is closest to your foot shape and size. So less material to punch or heat or grind.

Goes for other athletic shoes as well.

At this point, it's not the tech that's limiting it, but information. Maybe it can be crowdsourced by letting people themselves measure the inner boot dimensions and upload the measurement and boots size and models on a website. But then again, I don't think there's a "reverse calipre" that's available that can measure the inner dimensions of a boot. Nor an easy way to pry open the boot and measure inside, without distorting the shape and affecting the measurements.

Not plugging for Head, but the WCR heel pocket is about as tight as it gets.

If you take the liner out of the boot and stick your foot (with leg attached) into the boot. Looks just like a fence post in a hole.
It's Sika time.

Good stuff, any thoughts about the CS Redster? Another bootfitter brought up how it had a narrow heel area.
