Several. You're probably thinking of Sink the Bismarck, based on CS Forester's book.

(I still want to know WTF a USCG cutter was doing in the middle of the Atlantic that week, especially to have a chain of command link to be included in RN search ops. She is not on official convoy escort - that doesn't start until September of '41. )
That sounds right, back in the early 1960's I think. There was a catchy theme song that was on the radio for a while also.

The battleship New Jersey is commissioned and enters WW II.
I saw the USS New Jersey while still active, in NY Harbor in 1986. 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Beautiful ship. We cruised by right near it. Probably just north or south of Governor’s Island. Later, it took Reagan on parade up the Hudson a bit and back.

Secretariat wins Belmont by 31 lengths, takes the Triple Crown. Amazingly, all three races were won in record times that still stand 50 years later.

Secretariat well in the lead, “moving like a tremendous machine”. Jockey Ron Turcotte glances at the infield timer on the final stretch.

In 2013 on the fortieth anniversary, Belmont installed a pole with Secretariat’s blue and white colors. It marks the winning margin.

Fifty Years Later, Secretariat’s Triple Crown Run Still Seems Unbeatable

Humans in other sports hold records, but Secretariat’s dominance in 1973 has stood the test of time and is, in a word, unassailable.

Only one of the top 5 finishes at Belmont has been in this century (barely), Point Given with 2:26.56 in 2001.

The others in the top five are Easy Goer, who won with a time of 2:26 in 1989, A.P. Indy who won with a time of 2:26.13 in 1992, Risen Star with 2:26.50 in 1988,

The air quality risked it this year but looks like things may go off as scheduled.

I got knocked off a ladder and shadared both of my heels. Then had surgery on my right heel an got two plates and several screws installed in to put the heel back together. The left one had so many small pieces that they could find large enough pieces to screw together. So they just wrapped it and let it heal. I still have pain from the accident today.

Charles Kettering files a patent for the electric starter. This is credited for eventually killing off the electric car of the time.

Clara Ford’s, (wife of Henry),1914 electric car. Electrics were marketed to upscale women as there was no hand cranking of the engine.

First car with Kettering’s electric starter. The Cadillac Model 30, 1912. Four cylinder, 40hp, $1,800. Note it’s right hand drive, and all women in the car.

Title IX becomes the law of the land. A good day for the women of our country. I could go on about what is happening in women's sports today but I would probably get the post removed.
