I don’t think it’s on anything other than skisnowboardlive?
skiandsnowboard.live sent out an email a few days ago indicating a "partnership" with NBC/Peacock so that the world champs will be there too.

Per this NBC release, looks like Peacock is the place, some "highlights" on NBC.

Well! That’s just fantastic. Maybe. Better than nothing. But, Peacock finds ways you’ve never considered to mess things up. Like:
I mean Peacock suddenly has like 2 minutes of NBC Dateline in the middle of their replay from Kitzbuhel. (2nd downhill I think. )So bizarre.
So in the middle of the downhill, it suddenly switches to some interview with a suspect or witness. I forgot about that, it was there the night of the race when I watched the replay. Then I watched it yesterday again.
They’ve had a couple weeks to fix it. Did they? No.
High School kids wouldn’t be this bad.

I mean, I didn't say it would be good

It might be decent though if they're just going to snip some of the peacock coverage to put on NBC

So I am paying for both. I had canceled Peacock after Solden but paid again for a month so I could watch the recent Austrian races. The month won’t quite get me to Palisades so they will probably get me for another month. Pretty sure I recently saw where the World Champion week would be free but they already have my money. Peacock & USskiandsnowboard live must love me

Is Gisin dialed in enough to podium? She changed boots, plus she had mono last summer so she couldn’t do much. Not been a great year so far.

Does Gut-Behrami ski the SL? I can't recall her skiing SL since she hurt herself training for the AC at the Worlds in St Moritz

Brignone
Shiffy
Bassino

I thought she skied well in a recent slalom & earlier a decent SG run. But yeah, she has been way off her form of the past few seasons.
I think Brignone actually skis okay SL considering.

I guess we’ll find out. I seem to recall her skiing combined slalom in the distant past and doing OK.

Surprised Vlhova’s not giving it a go.

My guess is neither Gut-Behrami nor Goggia are planning to start in the SL. As said, I guess we’ll see. Gritsch is my dark horse podium candidate. She has victories in SG and DH in European Cup races in 2022 and has been good in 2nd runs a couple of times this season.

Didn't watch the race - prepping for a long drive today - but saw "DSQ" next to Shiffrin's name for run 2. So... what happened?

Gate straddle and ski out at bottom. Maybe 3 gates away? Last split on tv was .08 behind. That took a long time to get there. First split she only made up like .25, then lost a little. She made up a huge amount where it was steep. Course was not ice, but cold packed it seems.

She straddled the third-to-last gate. I’m sure much will be made about it given Beijing - and it was an uncharacteristic mistake - but the fact of the matter is that she was on pace to beat Holdener by ~1.2 seconds, on a pretty short SL course. So it seemed much more of a case of her pushing too hard than simply succumbing to pressure.

She didn’t lose time at any split - she actually made up more time in the second than the first. Although you’re right, most of it was made up at the end.

I was going to go look at it on Peacock again, but it’s disappeared. I guess it’ll be several hours till they make it a replay.

Contrary to some, I think she wasn't skiing all that great at all. The only time she really picked up was where Fede made mistake, and she made mistake at worse possible place, where all the speed she would need to carry with her was gone. Shiffrin was faster then Brignone, but nowhere near as much faster as she should be. And without Brignone's mistake and with Shiffrin coming to finish normally, I'm pretty sure Brignone would win it.
But then again, it's combined, so there's nothing to take from this either for normal SG or for SL. Only thing it might be is, that Shiffrin might have problems getting her head straight. As, even if you don't think it's anything Beijing related, it's certainly not good thing to know it's first next big race, and outcome continues from previous one. It's still not normal WC race, but more then this.

Eh, I don't think you're giving Fede enough credit here. Her SL run was as fast or faster than the SL "specialists" today - Holdener (with 2 SL wins this year) was only marginally faster, 0.04, and would have been much slower than her without the mistake. She was simply exceptional today in both runs, and given the easy course set and soft snow I think it's a bit of a jump to say Shiffrin should have won by much more than she was before the straddle - there just wasn't a lot to work with. Never said it was "great" or her best but she *was* pushing and taking some necessary risks. If anything Shiffrin's biggest mistake today wasn't her SL but letting Brignone run away with the SG.
