Greetings all,
It's been a while since I posted in the cycling section. I hope everyone had a great summer.
This is a late post but wanted to share some photos from my first-ever century ride from Leighton, PA, to Union Dale, PA (home of Elk Mountain, PA) on 9/2/22.
It was primarily via the D&L, Heritage, and D&H trails, but also had some road sections - mainly around the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area.
The weather was perfect, the spirits were high, the scenery was beautiful, and it was an all-around amazing day.
Jim Thorpe train station, just a few miles into the journey:
Lehigh Gorge:
Buttermilk Falls:
Nature/fuel break, somewhere along the D&L:
Somewhere near Wilkes-Barre:
We ran into Joe Snedeker, weatherman for WNEP - an avid cyclist and a bit of a local celebrity in NE PA:
The final mile, with Elk Mountain in the background.
Can't wait to do it again next year!
