Did they make that ski in two models? Because in the mid 80's they made the RC 4 in a Vacuum model and I don’t see Vacuum printed on your ski.I purchased these new. I think the year was 1984 or so.
The photo of the Vacuum ski is a second edition of the Vacuum process and is a cap style ski, the first edition of the vacuum was a sandwich style construction. The RC4 that I had was a GS sandwich construction or first edition vacuum model. It didn't come with a 1 - 3 tune but since I tuned it before using I found the ski was exceptional and yes very fast. It probably was the first true GS ski I owned. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the ski and don't remember why I got rid of the ski. Probably I needed to make space for something newer in my collection. This 1984 Equipment served me just fine..
Two days of skiing in 2014!
They are cool, what length are they? Is that an old Head binding?Got these last week from a yard sale. Barely a scratch on them. I'm guessing from the late 1960s or early 1970s?

Are you going to ski them? The Plate bindings of that day were reasonably safe. They are 195cm and the bindings say Head and System Gertsch.
No. Just part of a collection to look at. I'll sell at some point if someone is interested. Are you going to ski them? The Plate bindings of that day were reasonably safe.
He is such a nice guy, I remember meeting him several times. He was an equipment rep for one of the shops I worked. I think he worked for Beconta in the 1970s
